Pipeline welded and readied for burial

DTE’s natural gas transmission network helps meet the growing need for market and storage access from the Marcellus-Utica region.

DTE has created a natural gas pipeline transmission network linking markets in the Midwest, the Northeast and eastern Canada. These pipelines connect producing regions to market areas in order to meet the rising demand for clean, reliable natural gas while protecting the environment and reducing costs for everyone. Maybe most importantly, these pipelines allow access to massive underground storage fields in Michigan and Dawn, Ontario that provide critical supply and balancing particularly during the coldest winter months.  We are also building shorter pipeline laterals to serve new high-efficiency power plants, which will allow for the shutdown of old, polluting coal plants and addition of more renewables (wind and solar).
